Cat Adoption Team is looking for a Foster Program Assistant for the heavy kitten season that is soon approaching. This position is part time and seasonal. The hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1-6pm. This position will run from May 1 though November 30.
Job Title: Foster Program Assistant
Reports to: Operations Manager
Objective: The Foster Program Assistant will closely work with the Operations Manager to execute CAT’s Foster Program in accordance with the organizational mission, policies, goals and objectives to help increase resources and promote organizational success.
Hours: It is expected that the Foster Program Assistant will perform duties in the shelter a minimum of 15-20 hrs. per week depending on the season.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist with intake and check out of foster kittens and their moms
• Coordination of all supplies for the foster families including stocking and cleaning of baby bags and mentor bags
• Liaison between hospital and foster parents as needed
• Quick clean cages in Kitten Head Quarters. Keep KHQ clutter free
• Husbandry calls and triage support during shelter hours
• Schedule surgeries for all foster kittens and their moms and work with Hospital Doctor if more surgery days are needed
• Schedule and coordinate foster trainings as back up support
• Administrative Support
• Other duties as necessary or assigned
Qualifications:
Experience:
• 2-3 years on the job Veterinary Assistant experience preferred
• Prior shelter or animal control experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to problem solve and multi-task
• Customer Service experience desired
• Previous experience working within a volunteer organization
Skills:
• Cheerlead and encourage the foster network and staff
• Managing multiple tasks, etc
• Computer knowledge (Microsoft office, Impromed, etc)
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
• An extensive knowledge of queens and kittens
• Organizational skills a must
